Why does it cost me more money when I change my invoice date?
Short answer, it doesn't. The long answer follows. StorageMax invoices customers once a month for the storage fees for the following 30 days. A customer's invoice date starts the day they move into their unit, so some may be invoiced on the 1st, while others may be invoiced on the 10th. A main point of confusion is that while the invoice is once a month, it's not for that month; it is for the following 30 days. If a customer moves in on the 10th, they are invoiced each month for the period from the 10th to the following 10th. When a customer wants to change their invoice date to the 20th, there will be an adjustment for that one invoice period. When the change is made the customer is invoiced for the 10 days from the 10th to the 20th, and then invoiced from the 20th to the following 20th. There are no extra service charges or extra fees in this transaction; it is just the storage charges for the 10 days from the old invoice date to the new invoice date. From that point forward the customer would be invoiced their regular charges
